Frequently Asked Questions
Why is an AquaDome better than using pool pillows and manual pumps?
Pool pillows deflate and do not create a dome to prevent water, snow, ice, and debris from collecting on a pool cover. Manual pumps must be activated and maneuvered around a pool cover by the pool owner in the cold outdoor winter weather. They get clogged with debris and ice and they fail to operate altogether due to their pool quality. The AquaDome incorporates an inflatable bladder that consumes all the space in the pool under the cover and it creates a dome over the pool, which prevents ice, snow, water, and debris from collecting. The cover operates without any involvement of the pool owner because it includes an air pump and built-in technology that monitors the air pressure in the inflatable bladder. When the pressure goes below a preset level, the pump automatically inflates the bladder to the proper level. Unlike existing pool covers, pool pumps, and pool pillows, the AquaDome is completely effective and user-friendly.
Will this cover collapse under the weight of heavy snow or rain?
The AquaDome does not allow water, snow, ice, and debris to collect due to the dome shape. Therefore, weight that causes existing covers to collapse is not an issue with the AquaDome.
Do you offer covers for custom shapes like kidney or free-form pools?
The AquaDome is designed for round and oval above ground pools and rectangular inground pools. In the near future, it also will be able to resolve issues with spring loaded safety covers on rectangular and free-form shaped pools.
Is the cover difficult to assemble?
The AquaDome is easy to assemble. Assembly involves inserting threaded plastic nipples into the bottom receptacle of the inflatable bladder and either the inside of a pool return or the receptacle of the enclosed skimmer plate. The enclosed hose is connected to the two threaded plastic nipples on the interior of the pool and fastened with stainless steel clamps. The enclosed air pump with built-in pressure detection automation is inserted into the outside of a pool return or the other side of the receptacle of the enclosed skimmer plate. Once the enclosed air pump is plugged into the electrical outlet, the bladder inflates to the preset air pressure level and remains at that level throughout the winter.
How do I know which size to order for my pool?
The pool owner will need to accurately measure the dimensions of the pool to know what size AquaDome pool cover to order. Round pools require the diameter. Oval pools require the distance from the north to the south pole and the distance from the east to the west pole. Rectangular pools require the length and the width.
What is included in the AquaDome system package?
The items included in the AquaDome pool cover package include a skimmer plate with a threaded receptacle, an air pump with built-in pressure detection automation, a threaded fitting for the air pump, two 1 ½ inch threaded plastic nipples, four stainless steel clamps, and a 12 foot long 1 ½ inch hose.
